Silent Counselling

A therapy you don't
have to talk your way through

Silent Counselling works with the stress your body is still carrying, not the story you would have to retell to explain it.

What it is

Working with the body,
not the narrative

Silent Counselling is a body-based energy therapy. It uses gentle muscle testing, a simple way of asking the body questions, to find where stress is being held, and to release it.

Difficult experiences do not only live in memory. They settle in the body as tension, numbness, dread, or a feeling you cannot quite put a name to. Talking about them can help. Sometimes it cannot, and sometimes it costs more than it gives.

This work begins from the body instead. It does not require you to relive anything.

Where it came from

An old idea,
quietly refined

Silent Counselling grew out of kinesiology and energy therapy traditions, which have long used muscle testing as a way of listening to the body rather than interrogating the mind.

What happens in a session

Four gentle steps,
at your pace

  1. 01

    We settle

We begin slowly. You get comfortable, the camera can be on or off, and there is nothing you need to prepare or perform.

  2. 02

    Your body is asked

Using gentle muscle testing, your system is asked where the stress is held. You do not need to name it, date it or describe it.

  3. 03

    The stress is released

What comes up is worked with quietly and released. Often there is very little talking at all. Some people close their eyes throughout.

  4. 04

    We close gently

We finish with a short settling, and a few words about what to expect over the following days.

The body remembers, and the body can let go.

What it feels like

Mostly, it feels
like rest

People often describe a session as unusually quiet. There can be warmth, heaviness, yawning, a long exhale, sometimes tears that arrive without a story attached.

Afterwards, many people feel tired in a settled way, and lighter over the following days. Others notice the change only later, as something they used to brace against no longer being there.

What it is not

  • It is not talking therapy, and it does not replace it.
  • It is not a diagnosis, and it is not medical treatment.
  • It is not hypnosis, and you are awake and in control throughout.
  • It is not something done to you. Nothing happens that your system does not agree to.

The practical details

  • You do not need to relive anything, or describe it.
  • Sessions run online via Zoom, wherever you are.
